Sugartina Summersweet is a dwarf deciduous shrub with a dense mounded habit of deep green foliage that turns yellow in fall. The sweetly fragrant white raceme contrast nicely against the dark foliage and bloom in midsummer.  Best color when grown in full sun and moist well-drained soils.

Clethra alnifolia is noted for its special value in attracting large numbers of native bees.  The nectar also attracts butterflies and hummingbirds, and the seeds provide food for birds.
