Sweet Summer Hydrangea is a compact deciduous shrub with stiff stems that do not arch under the panicles weight and foliage that turns yellow in fall. The dense panicles bloom white and mature to pink starting from the bottom creating color layers, and persist until frost attracting pollinators. While it can tolerate full sun, its best blooms are in part sun and rich, moist well-drained acidic soils.
