Hellebore is a clumping, late winter-blooming evergreen perennials with leathery deep green leaves. The long bloom season lasts for 8- 10 weeks with small clusters of large cup-shaped flowers from winter into spring attracting butterflies and pollinators. Flower colors vary, usually between white, pink, and purple and may have internal spots. Best bloom in dappled sun and moist well-drained soils. All parts of the plant are toxic if ingested.
