High Contrast Lungwort is a shade loving semi-evergreen  perennial with wavy green foliage heavily mottled with silver.  Short stocks sporting burgundy buds that open to drooping clusters of small pink funnel-shaped flowers that age to blue and bloom from early to mid spring attracting  butterflies.  Best flowering in  part shade and rich, evenly moist well-drained soils.  High Contrast is highly mildew resistant and well suited for the humid summers of the south.

MAINTENANCE NEEDS:  Low Maintenance. Water regularly and do not let soil dry out.  Will wilt or scorch in full sun.  Root rot can be a problem in poorly drained soils. Powdery mildew and slugs are occasional problems. 

LANDSCAPE USES:  Accents or Group Plantings,  Borders,  Naturalized Areas,  Rock Gardens,  Wildlife Garden, and Containers.
