Powis Castle Artemisia is a bushy, woody-based perennial that is primarily grown for its aromatic foliage.  The silvery fern-like foliage is finely divided and feathery in appearance.  It typically grows to 2-3’ and may reach 3-6’ wide if not restrained.  Tiny yellow-tinged silver flowers rarely bloom.  Grows best in full sun and well-drained soils.  Evergreen in warm winter climates.

MAINTENANCE NEEDS: Low maintenance.  Excellent soil drainage is essential.  Susceptible to root rot in moist to wet soils. General foliage decline may occur in hot and humid summer climates.  Watch for rhizomatous spread.

LANDSCAPE USES: Accents or Group Plantings, Borders, Naturalized Areas, Rock Gardens, Xeriscaping, and Containers.

COMPANION PLANTS: Milkweed, Big Bluestem, Rosemary
