Royal Candles Speedwell

Veronica spicata 'Glory'

Royal Candles Speedwell is an erect bushy upright herbaceous  perennial with low-growing narrow medium green lance-like leaves.  A profusion of vertical flower spikes with densely packed deep blue-purple flowers top the foliage in from late spring to midsummer, attracting  butterflies.  Grows best in  full sun and well-drained soils.  Tolerates light shade.

MAINTENANCE NEEDS: Low Maintenance. Root rot may occur in wet or poorly-drained soils.  No serious pests or diseases.
LANDSCAPE USES:  Accents or Group Plantings,  Borders,  Naturalized Areas,  Woodland Gardens,  Rock Gardens, and Containers.

COMPANION PLANTS:  Coneflower, Black-eyed Susan, Blue Fescue
