Dianthus 'Kahori'

Kahori Dianthus is a compact mat-forming evergreen  perennial with grey green foliage and hairy stems.  Masses of fragrant semi-double lilac pink flowers bloom first in late  spring into summer, and sporadically into fall if deadheaded.  Blooms best in  full sun and slightly alkaline, moist, and well-drained soil. 

MAINTENANCE NEEDS: Low Maintenance.  Water regularly.  Deadhead to extend bloom.  Susceptible to botrytis, wilt, rot and rust.   MItes, aphids, leafminers, and scale are potential pests.  Crown rot may occur in poorly-drained soils.

LANDSCAPE USES:  Accents or Group Plantings,  Borders,  Woodland Garden,  Rock Gardens, Foundational Plantings, and Containers.

COMPANION PLANTS:  Phlox,  Speedwell,  Coneflower
