Black Pine is a large evergreen conifer tree with a dense pyramidal habit when young that opens to a flat top or domed crown and plated dark brown bark. The stiff pointed dark green needles come in bundles of two.  Oval stalkless cones mature to brown. Grows best in full sun with and moist, well-drained soils.  Easy to transplant and is tolerant of clay, urban conditions, salt, and drought once established.
